At torne_craftbeer in Tenroku, Osaka, the event series “Hands On : Cheese & Minoh Beer” will be held on Wednesday, August 19.

The concept behind Hands On is to explore the relationship between food and beer rather than just eating by hand. This edition focuses on cheese, paired with Minoh Beer selections. The featured special beer is BATON, Minoh Beer’s foeder beer, joined by limited and regular draft offerings.

Foeder-aged beer brings together wood, yeast, microbes, and time, giving it the kind of depth that makes it especially interesting alongside cheese. The event is built around different styles of cheese, including bloomy rind, blue, washed-rind, and hard cheese, so guests can compare how each pairing changes the beer’s character.

Two pairing options are available: a tasting set with 4 cheeses × 4 Minoh beers for JPY 3,500, and a full pairing with 8 cheeses × 8 Minoh beers for JPY 6,500. Cheeses are selected by Le Comptoir / Le Comptoir, a Tokyo-based cheese and wine importer, adding a wide range of flavors to the lineup.

torne_craftbeer is a beer pub in the Tenroku area, open Monday to Thursday from 5:00 pm to midnight, Friday and Saturday from 5:00 pm to 2:00 am, and Sundays and holidays from 3:00 pm to midnight. It is a good setting for a focused pairing session built around beer, cheese, and careful tasting.
