At 2階のクラフトビール屋つむぎ in Minami-Kashiwa, Noroshi Jozo's 839 (Hassaku) has been added to the taps. The shop specializes in Japanese craft beer, offers eight draft lines, and provides tasting pours so guests can try before they choose. Its bright, casual atmosphere also makes it approachable for solo drinkers and families.
839 is a sour ale brewed with hassaku citrus. The post describes a vivid citrus aroma, sweetness and fresh acidity from the fruit, and a soft bitter finish in the back half. It also notes a 4.2% ABV and a balance that keeps a grainy beer character underneath the fruit. In the brewer's comment, the beer is presented as a series that started at Numazu Craft in 2019 and has since been brewed at different breweries, including Kokuritsu Brewery and Rough & Rough Brewery. This release uses about 60 kg of hassaku harvested this year.
The idea of using local fruit and brewing beer on the same land fits the pub's identity well. In a space built around domestic craft beer and easy, informal drinking, this citrus-forward sour ale looks like a natural fit for the warm season.
