2階のクラフトビール屋つむぎ, a beer pub near Minami-Kashiwa Station, announced a new arrival on Instagram: Zouno Mai. The beer is a collaboration between Zojirushi and Echigo Beer and is presented as a golden ale.

The post highlights the beer's concept as an upcycled brew made with tasting rice generated during rice-cooker development. That background gives the beer a clear story beyond its flavor profile: it is designed around making use of rice that would otherwise be left over.

Tsugumi serves eight taps of domestic craft beer and rotates them as kegs run out, so the lineup changes from day to day. The shop's official site describes it as a casual, bright place to drink, and it also serves lager through a swing-cock system. Zouno Mai fits that kind of lineup well as a guest beer with a strong origin story and a straightforward drinking style.
