MOONRISE KINGDOM, a beer pub in Nishi-Shinjuku, said it will open on Friday, July 24. The bar is leaning into the season with cold craft beer and house-made Mexican food, centered on burritos, tacos, and seasonal dishes. It also offers three domestic draft beers and around 30 bottled beers from Japan and overseas, giving drinkers plenty of options.

The new draft beer is Siesta from Karuizawa Q. It is described as a Mexican lager with lime peel and yuzu-like sudachi juice, bringing a bright citrus aroma and a clean, light finish. The post also references the local Mexican habit of adding lime to beer, positioning the beer as a natural fit for the kitchen’s food menu.

On the food side, the standout dish is the bonito ceviche-style carpaccio. It combines fresh bonito with fruity acidity, salsa, and the crisp texture of summer vegetables, and the bar notes that it pairs well with IPA and lager styles. Other featured dishes include bonito ceviche with cold capellini, a new version of beef birria, plum bruschetta, carnitas tacos, and the MOONRISE burrito.
