KBL THE GARAGE (Umekoji, Kyoto) announced a tie-in initiative for the Kyoto Marathon weekend in an Instagram post titled "Kyoto Marathon 2026 Support Campaign!" (posted February 5, 2026 at 2:31 p.m.).

According to the post, the first event will be the monthly run of the "KBL RUN CLUB," held from THE GARAGE starting at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14. Participants receive one half-size drink, and baggage storage is also available. Nearby public baths are also introduced as places to stop by after the run, including Umeyu, Taishoyu, Miyako-yu - Shimabara -, and Pote-yu, reflecting a design that encourages post-exercise roaming.

In addition, over the two days of Saturday, February 14 and Sunday, February 15, perks for Kyoto Marathon participants will be offered. Show something that proves participation, such as a bib number, and the first drink is 20% off; finishers who show their finisher certificate will receive one half-size drink. The offer is available at both Kyoto Beer Lab locations and is limited to customers aged 20 and over.

The post also notes that the route from the goal area at Heian Jingu Shrine to Kyoto Beer Lab (Shichijo Kiyamachi) is about 3.2 km, proposing a "walk for a drink" as a cool-down. It also mentions serving tempura made from wakasagi caught in Lake Biwa by the THE GARAGE manager.

Kyoto Beer Lab is known as a brewery/taproom that has long promoted craft beer culture in the city of Kyoto, and this project clearly continues its approach of connecting the "event," "city," and "beer experience" into one. Open not only to runners but also to spectators and general visitors, it looks set to add a new place to detour to in Kyoto on marathon weekend.
