Joining the Event Train Crossing Hamadori

Sandy Brewery announced its participation in East Japan Railway Company’s Mito Branch event train, the “Hamadori Sake Tour Train, Carrying the Breeze of the Coast,” scheduled to operate on May 9. The train departs from JR Iwaki Station and heads to Haranomachi Station, offering a way to experience Hamadori’s sake, food, and fermentation culture.

This project features a total of 10 kinds of drinks, including beer, as Hamadori sake, creating a tasting lineup that lets passengers compare them side by side. In addition to food service, the route also includes winery and brewery tours, as well as talks by local business operators. Planned stops include J-Village Station, Tomioka Station, Yonomori Station, Namie Station, and Odaka Station.

A Microbrewery Brewing in Kawamae Town, Iwaki City

Sandy Brewery is a microbrewery based in Kawamae Town, Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture. It was launched in 2024 and is advancing small-batch, wide-variety beer production using local ingredients such as hops and malt grown in Kawamae Town.

Kawamae Town is a mountainous area about an hour by car from central Iwaki City. While making use of local resources, the brewery has emphasized its commitment to delivering craft beer rooted in the community. Its participation in this Sake Tour Train is another effort to connect Hamadori’s sake culture with a train journey.
