Butterfly Brewery, based in Kasugai, Aichi, is now offering its new craft beer, “Drum,” at the brewery and through its online store.

“Drum” is a Golden IPA built on a classic beer profile, with an emphasis on refreshment and a clean, crisp finish. The beer has an alcohol content of 7.0% ABV. While it offers the satisfying presence expected from an IPA, its lively finish makes it suitable both for pairing with food and for enjoying on its own.

The beer’s defining feature is its changing aromatic character. Its profile develops from the first sip through the finish, echoing the rhythm suggested by its name. Butterfly Brewery describes it as a beer in which “sound plays and changes its expression over a measured rhythm,” calling it a glass that gently appeals to the senses.

“Drum” also attracted attention at the Gifu Oktoberfest. For drinkers who discovered it at the event, the current retail and online availability offers a chance to revisit the beer at their own pace. It should appeal to fans looking for the balance of a Golden IPA’s satisfying body and a refreshing, dry finish.

Butterfly Brewery opened in November 2021 with the concept of creating a place where people can enjoy beer while listening to music. The brewery hosts mini-concerts throughout the year and began brewing its own beer after installing brewing equipment in 2022. Its lineup often draws on instruments and musical tones, making “Drum” a natural addition to the brewery’s music-inspired world.

“Drum” is available at the brewery in Kasugai and through the official online store.
