A hop-forward IPA in Kofu
Craft beer pub diagonal, located in Aonuma, Kofu, is now serving “BAK to the MAX” from NOMCRAFT BREWING. The beer was brewed in collaboration with BAK Brewing of Osaka and is available from the pub’s tap lineup.
The IPA carries an ABV of 6.5% and an IBU of 100, making it a strong choice for drinkers who enjoy a firm, lingering bitterness. Its hop bill includes Simcoe, Chinook, Columbus, Nelson Sauvin, and Zappa. The resulting profile combines pronounced grapefruit-like citrus with impressions of white grape and melon.
While bitterness is the first defining feature, the beer also offers layered hop aromas that develop as the glass progresses. Its name reflects the beer’s intent: pushing hop bitterness to the maximum. The bold profile should work particularly well alongside rich dishes such as grilled meats, burgers, and cheese-based food.
