North Island Beer to Sell Limited Bottles and Draft Beer in a 15-Day Pop-Up at Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro
North Island Beer, from Ebetsu, Hokkaido, began a 15-day pop-up at Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro on April 22. During the event, the brewery will offer limited-edition bottles, draft beer, and tasting sets, with different staff members handling sales in the first and second halves of the run.
North Island Beer, which has been brewing craft beer in Ebetsu, Hokkaido since 2003, has opened at Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro's "Winter Hokkaido Fair." The event runs for 15 days, from April 22 to May 6, and brings the brand's beer to shoppers through the department store's event space in Ikebukuro.
At this pop-up, the brewery is selling a range of limited-edition beers in bottles, including "Haruyoi," whose eye-catching cherry blossom design stands out, and "Bokura to, Neko". It is also offering draft beer and tasting sets. The lineup is designed to give visitors both the pleasure of taking bottles home and the enjoyment of tasting on site.
The sales setup is also notable: in the first half of the event, sales representative Mr. Haga will staff the booth, while in the second half, new hire Mr. Suzuki will take over. Because the venue is a department store event hall, being able to choose while talking with the brewer and sales staff is likely to be one of the event's distinctive features.
North Island Beer is a brewery that continues to roll out both core products and limited releases, while staying true to the individuality of Hokkaido craft beer. A long-running event like this can also be a chance for drinkers from farther away to get a sense of the brand's range. The 15 days in Ikebukuro should offer a chance to experience its character through limited bottles, draft beer, and tasting comparisons.
