A golden ale with an upcycling story

Beer pub 2階のクラフトビール屋つむぎ, located about one minute from the West Exit of Minami-Kashiwa Station, is serving Zouno Mai as a new guest beer. The golden ale is a collaboration between Zojirushi and Echigo Beer, and uses tasting rice produced during rice-cooker development as part of its brewing concept.

Rather than focusing only on flavor, Zouno Mai also highlights how a material that might otherwise be discarded can be given a new role in beer. Its golden ale style suggests a gentle, approachable drinking profile that should work well on its own or alongside the pub’s light snacks.

A casual place to explore Japanese craft beer

Tsumugi offers eight rotating taps of domestic craft beer, with the selection changing as kegs run out. Tasting pours are available, making it easy to sample a new arrival before committing to a full serving.

The pub has a bright, casual counter-centered atmosphere and is comfortable for solo visits, an after-work drink, or a quick stop before dinner. Beer remains the focus, supported by a small selection of snacks. Tsumugi also takes pride in serving draft beer through a vintage-style swing tap.

Zouno Mai offers drinkers the chance to explore both a collaborative golden ale and the idea of upcycling tasting rice. Availability may change, so checking the pub’s official channels before visiting is recommended.
