April 21 Is Shanti Curry Day

The brewery Canal brewing in Oi, Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, will hold a limited sale of Shanti Curry on Tuesday, April 21. The shop will open at 5:00 p.m., and curry service is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. In addition to dine-in, takeout will also be available, and service will end once sold out.

Canal brewing is a brewery and craft beer specialty shop within walking distance of Oimachi Station. It features a 15-seat standing bar and supports cashless payments. With a focus on creating a space rooted in the local community, it is easy to stop by after work while also welcoming families.

Today's Tap List

The lineup announced in the post includes eight beers, including Canal brewing's own house brews. The styles are broad, ranging from hop-forward options that pair well with curry to light lager-style beers and tart cider.

- Canal brewing - C #3 (IPA)
- Nomcraft Brewing - Mystic Tiger (Hazy IPA)
- Faló Brewing - Chonk (Double IPA)
- FLORA FERMENTATION - Lupus -Strata- (Pale Ale)
- MAHOWBREW - Muninn (Munich-style Helles)
- Green Neighbors Hard Cider - SOUR TOKI ver. (Hard Cider)
- THREE ARROWS BREWING - Funky Monkey Mango (Fruits Pale Ale)
- RIOT BEER - ROVO -Nitro Ver- (Scottish Ale)

To pair with the spice of Shanti Curry, not only are hop-defined IPAs and DIPAs a natural fit, but so are the fruit-forward fruit pale ale and the smooth, easy-drinking Helles. With tart hard cider and a calm, mellow Scottish ale also on the board, it is a lineup built for moving back and forth between food and beer.

Canal brewing continues to operate in Oimachi with craft beer at its core, and this event once again makes clear the appeal of drinking alongside a meal. Whether you come for the curry or the tap list, it looks like a day with a clear reason to visit.
