Shonan Beer has announced a new product from its direct-sale shop, Chikashitsu. The release is Akaten-gu Beer's "Barrel Aged W-IPA," presented as a Barrel Aged Double IPA with malt and hops, and an ABV of 11.5%.

The post notes the use of Mosaic and Riwaka hops. The base W-IPA is built around U.S.-grown Mosaic and New Zealand-grown Riwaka, aiming for a beer that balances strong aroma with solid drinking depth. For IPA fans who want to check both the hop character and the barrel-aged richness, this is a noteworthy release.

Shonan Beer's cellar shop is a calm underground space where you can find sake, beer, and craft gin brewed and distilled by Kumazawa Brewery. Paid tastings are available, making it a practical stop for comparing bottles before buying. It is a fitting place to discover a new release in Chigasaki's brewery district.
