Hop Japan, the brewery based in Tamura, Fukushima, has launched a limited beer set developed with Takashimaya. The highlight is Abukuma RICH, a fresh-hop Kölsch brewed specifically for this project, alongside other beers that showcase hops grown in Tamura City.
Hop Japan, which operates Miyakoji Hop Garden Brewery in Tamura, Fukushima, has released a limited beer set developed in collaboration with Takashimaya. For the brewery, which handles hop cultivation and brewing in one process, the project is a way to bring the appeal of Tamura-grown hops to customers nationwide.
The centerpiece of the set is Abukuma RICH, a beer brewed exclusively for this collaboration. Designed to express fresh hops in a richer way, it is a fresh-hop Kölsch made with two hop varieties, Cascade and Crystal. According to the brewery, the beer offers bright citrus-like aroma and a clean, green freshness.
The set also includes Abukuma GREEN and Abukuma CRYSTAL. Both are brewed with fresh hops from Tamura City, making the set a tasting lineup that highlights the character of each hop expression. Orders are now being accepted on Takashimaya Online Store under the 2026 summer gift and midyear gift campaign. The set is limited in quantity, delivery starts on June 19, and sales run until 10:00 a.m. on August 4.
Hop Japan was established in 2020 after renovating the former public facility Green Park Miyakoji in Tamura City. The brewery has built its identity around hop cultivation, brewing, and regional value creation, making this collaboration a fitting extension of its core mission.
