Yamorido, a brewpub in Kyoto’s Fushimi district, has released a new house beer called “Minamikaze.” Brewed as an Extra Pale Ale at 5.5% ABV and 35 IBU, it features Motueka, Nelson Sauvin, Citra CRYO, and Magnum for a bright, summer-ready profile.
Yamorido, the machiya-style brewpub in Kyoto’s Fushimi district, has released a new XPA called “Minamikaze.” The venue carries on the history of an old tea shop while offering house-brewed craft beer, Japanese tea, and food in a calm, traditional setting.
“Minamikaze” is a new seasonal release arriving about a month after the previous beer. It is brewed as an Extra Pale Ale (XPA) with 35 IBU and 5.5% ABV. The grist uses Pilsner and Caramel Pils malts, while the hop bill includes Motueka, Nelson Sauvin, Citra CRYO, and Magnum. The beer is fermented with BRY-97 and Nova Lager yeast.
The aroma leans into the bright, green character often found in New Zealand hops, with grassy notes and a lime-like edge. A soft malt backbone supports the hop character, keeping the beer balanced rather than sharply aggressive. The result is a beer that feels light and breezy, fitting for warm weather and easy drinking.
Yamorido is located in Kyoto’s Nakayokake-cho area in Fushimi, where the atmosphere of an old townhouse meets a modern brewpub experience. It is a place where beer fans can try fresh house beers alongside food pairings, making “Minamikaze” a release worth noting for anyone following Kyoto’s craft beer scene.
