North Island Beer Special Event at Sapporo Ippuan on April 11 and 25
North Island Beer, which operates its brewery in Ebetsu, Hokkaido, will hold a special event on April 11 and 25 at Ramen Sapporo Ippuan in front of Sapporo Station. In addition to draft beer, beer tastings and a rock-paper-scissors tournament are also planned.
North Island Beer’s Ebetsu brewery is teaming up with the popular restaurant Ramen Sapporo Ippuan in front of Sapporo Station to hold a special event on Saturdays in April. The event is titled "NORTH ISLAND BEER × Ramen Sapporo Ippuan: Cheers in front of Satsueki!". It will be held on Saturday, April 11 and Saturday, April 25, both from 11:00 to 20:00.
The venue is Hokuren Building B1F, 1-1 Kita 4-jo Nishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo. At Ippuan, located underground in front of Sapporo Station, North Island Beer will serve draft beer. The announcement says up to six taps will be available at once, making it a setup where visitors can enjoy comparing different beers. Gyōza and ramen will also be available to order, and a rock-paper-scissors tournament is scheduled to take place on the day.
North Island Beer is a brewery based at its factory in Ebetsu, Hokkaido. On its official website, the brand is introduced as having been started by a brewer who trained in Canada, and it now produces five standard beers as well as seasonal and limited-edition brews. It has also expanded craft beer access from both the brewery and the city center, including draft beer at its directly operated shop, Beer Bar North Island, in central Sapporo.
What stands out about this event is that it clearly encourages pairing beer with ramen and gyoza, rather than treating beer as a standalone offering. An Ebetsu brewery taking over a ramen shop in front of Sapporo Station makes this a notable event that puts the food-and-beer combination front and center.
