At the beer pub HOP MAN in Chigasaki, Kanagawa, Passific Brewing's "Citrush" has been newly tapped. This West Coast IPA-based beer uses seasonal citrus from Omishima in Ehime, and combines the juiciness of the juice and peel with a pleasant bitterness.
At the beer pub "HOP MAN" in Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Passific Brewing "Citrush" has appeared as a new tap.
This beer uses seasonal citrus sent from "Hanazawa Family Farm," a citrus farm on Omishima, an island in the Seto Inland Sea in Ehime Prefecture. The peels are carefully removed by hand, and the fruit is then juiced with a slow juicer. For the base, it uses a West Coast-style IPA centered on citrusy hops, and by layering the juice and peel, it brings out not only the aroma but also the outline of the flavor.
Its hallmarks are the strong haze derived from the peel and the juiciness supported by it. On top of that come the mild bitterness from the hops and peel, resulting in a finish that feels three-dimensional rather than just a fruit IPA. With citrus still in season, this seems like the kind of fresh drinking experience you can enjoy right now.
As a beer pub in the Chigasaki Station area, HOP MAN is a place that catches the eye of beer fans who keep track of daily tap-in updates. Including its location on the second floor of Sunruiz Shonan, it's a venue to remember as a place where you can quietly tilt your glass. It was a post well suited to checking the latest keg situation while tasting seasonal domestic craft beer.
