Kyoto Beer Lab unveils June lineup with a run club on June 20 and Tokyo pop-ups
Kyoto Beer Lab has released its June event schedule. The lineup includes its monthly run club starting at KBL THE GARAGE in Umekoji, plus Tokyo pop-ups, a collaboration beer release, and a Kyoto walking event later in the month.
Kyoto Beer Lab, a brewpub along the Takase River within walking distance of Kyoto Station, has shared its June event lineup. The schedule stretches from its signature Umekoji run club to out-of-town tap takeovers and a Kyoto neighborhood walk, giving beer fans several reasons to follow the brewery this month.
June 20: KBL Running CLUB
The first highlight is the monthly KBL Running CLUB on Saturday, June 20 at 3:00 p.m. The meeting point is KBL THE GARAGE in Umekoji. The run team will cover about 10 km visiting sweet factory outlet shops, while the walk team will follow a roughly 5 km route toward Otabe’s main store. After the activity, participants can warm up in a public bath and then toast the day back at KBL THE GARAGE. A half-pint "o-tsukare beer" is included free for participants, and same-day drop-ins are welcome with no reservation required.
Tokyo events and a collaboration release
Starting on June 20, KBL beer will be on tap at FAM333 Craft Beer Tap in Tokyo’s Kitasando area, alongside a limited-edition collaboration can release tied to the Yopikichi art exhibit. Also on June 20, The Office in Ebisu will host a launch party for a collaboration beer with Bighand Bros. Another major out-of-town event follows from June 22 to 27 at CRAFT BEER SERVER LAND AKASAKAMITSUKE, where 30 beers from Kyoto breweries will be poured in a TTO format.
More Kyoto-side programming later in the month
Back in Kyoto, June 27 brings a Maimai Kyoto walking event centered on Umekoji and KBL THE GARAGE, with five craft beers and snacks included. On June 28, KBL THE GARAGE will host the Monthly GARAGE Session, a rooftop-market-style gathering with DJs, food, and apparel.
What to drink
Kyoto Beer Lab is known for its tea-driven CHABEER series. On the brewery side, names such as Kabuse Tea White Ale, Fukamushi IPA, and Hojicha Stout are closely associated with its lineup, giving the brewery a distinct Kyoto character built around aroma, balance, and a tea-inflected finish.
