First Tap Take Over at Canal brewing


Canal brewing, the craft beer-focused brewery in Oimachi, Tokyo, will hold its first Tap Take Over on August 8. The venue has spent about a year preparing the event, using collaborations with partner breweries to build a lineup centered on its own originals and collaborative beers. The shop is located at 1-26-4 Oi, Shinagawa-ku.

Eight beers on tap


A total of eight beers will be served on the day. The lineup mixes Canal brewing originals with collaborative releases:

- C / IPA, 5.5%
- C w/pineapple / IPA w/ Pineapple, 5.5%
- Oldnew Downtown / West Coast Lager with Yuzu, 5.5% (Canal brewing × すえひろ湯 × GRANDLINE BREWING)
- Daylight Moon / Fruit Ale, 4.5% (Canal brewing × Bar FUKURO × Egret Brewery)
- Midnight Sun / Hoppy Citrus Saison, 5.0% (Canal brewing × Bar FUKURO × CAMADO BREWERY)
- Momonga Bongos / Hazy Pale Ale, 5.5% (Canal brewing × Nomcraft Brewing)
- try / Scottish Ale, 4.0% (Canal brewing × CAMADO BREWERY)
- ピーナッツバターポー太郎 ~Nitro ver~ / Flavored Porter, 5.5% (Canal brewing × Cycad Brewing)

According to the post, every beer except C and the new Portaro is down to the last keg. The range covers IPA, lager, fruity ale, saison, hazy pale ale, Scottish ale, and porter, making it a strong tasting session for style-minded drinkers.

Limited food and event extras


Limited food will also be available, including burritos, yam wun sen, goya white kimchi, and spicy miso tofu. The food is quantity-limited and intended to be paired with the beer lineup. A rock-paper-scissors contest is scheduled around 3 p.m., 6 p.m., and 9 p.m.
