KBL THE GARAGE (Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City) announced a joint anniversary celebration marking Kyoto Beer Lab's 8th anniversary and KBL THE GARAGE's 2nd anniversary. The event will run for three days, Saturday, May 2; Sunday, May 3; and Monday, May 4. Kyoto Beer Lab will be open from 13:00 to 23:00, and KBL THE GARAGE from 13:00 to 21:00.

This project will feature a collaboration beer with Sakamichi Brewing. According to the post, the concept began with brewing two kinds of fruit beer at the two breweries, and after repeated tastings while walking around the pavilion, it evolved into a plan to express Japanese fruit in different styles.

The KBL beer is a fruit lambic, "Royal Rumble / Pear and Hibiscus Graff Farmhouse (Fruited Lambic)", brewed with Yamagata-grown pear and hibiscus flowers and fermented with farmhouse yeast. Along with the floral aroma from hibiscus syrup, it also uses a special hop variety from Hollingberry Farm in the United States. The post explains that it is characterized by fruity notes and a gentle acidity, making it easy to drink in warm weather.

Meanwhile, Sakamichi Brewing brewed a sour ale using the seasonal citrus variety "Shonen Gold." During the anniversary period, Royal Rumble will be available at the lab, creating an opportunity to enjoy the celebration while appreciating the distinct character of both breweries.
