Kumahiko Cafe and Kyoto Arashiyama Brewery to Set Up Shop for Three Days Only at Matsuo Taisha
At Kyoto's Matsuo Taisha, Kumahiko Cafe and Kyoto Arashiyama Brewery will be operating for three days only from May 4 to 6. Visitors can enjoy coffee made with sacred shrine water, Kumahiko's signature curry bread, and craft beer from Arashiyama.
According to a notice from Matsuo Taisha dated April 24, Kumahiko Cafe and Kyoto Arashiyama Brewery will set up a limited-time stall from May 4 to 6, 2026. It is being presented as an event suited to the fresh green season, and it is designed to be easy to stop by before or after a visit to the shrine.
On offer will be a special coffee made with sacred shrine water, Kumahiko's signature curry bread, and craft beer from Arashiyama. With cafe menu items and beer available in the same place, the setup lets visitors enjoy everything in one flow, from a light break to a drink. Because it is on the shrine grounds, the atmosphere is a little different from an ordinary beer bar or brewery event, with a calmer feel to enjoy.
Kyoto Arashiyama Brewery is based in Kyoto City, and on its official website it states that it aims to make delicious beer rooted in Kyoto and enjoyed with smiles by people around the world. For the brewery, which operates the Sanjo Brewery / Brewpub, this limited-time appearance at a local shrine is also a chance to feel its ties to the community. It will also be worth watching how beer bearing the Arashiyama name is received within the grounds of Matsuo Taisha.
