A station turns into a beer hall

Kyoto Arashiyama Brewery, which operates a brew pub and brewery in central Kyoto, will appear at the Yase Eiden Local Beer Festival on Sunday, September 6. The festival runs for three days, from September 4 to 6, at the terminal station of the Eizan Electric Railway in northern Kyoto.

What makes the event stand out is the venue itself. The station becomes the stage for a beer-focused gathering, and the organizers say an air-conditioned Beer Train will be parked inside the station so visitors can enjoy beer and food on board. The nearby Takano River also adds a refreshing outdoor element to the experience.

A Kyoto brewery with local roots

On its official website, Kyoto Arashiyama Brewery says it aims to brew good beer rooted in Kyoto for people around the world to enjoy with a smile. Its Sanjo Brewery / Brew Pub is located in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City, giving it a central base even as the brewery carries the Arashiyama name.

That mix of local identity and city-center brewing makes its appearance at Yase a natural fit. The station at Yase-Hieizanguchi sits at the foot of Mt. Hiei, so the festival combines beer with the atmosphere of northern Kyoto.

Why September 6 matters

- Brewery appearance date: September 6, 2026
- Venue: Eizan Railway Yase-Hieizanguchi Station
- On-site Beer Train for food and drink
- A setting shaped by the Takano River and Mt. Hiei

For beer fans, the appeal is simple: this is a chance to drink Kyoto craft beer in a place that is usually part of the journey, not the destination. For fans of Kyoto beer culture, Kyoto Arashiyama Brewery’s participation is the detail to watch.
