A Matsuyama brewery heads to Gifu

DD4D Brewing is a craft brewery based in Matsuyama, Ehime. It began in 1998 as a select shop, added a brewery inside its Chifunemachi store in 2019, and opened a second factory in Mitsuhama in 2021. The company says it has released more than 350 beers in Japan and overseas, and its mix of apparel and beer has become part of its identity.

The new destination is Gifu Oktoberfest 2026, held at Nobunaga Yume Plaza in front of JR Gifu Station. The festival runs from October 2 to 12, 2026, with October 7 as a break day. DD4D will appear in the first half of the event. Hours are 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays and 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends, alongside 28 breweries and food vendors from around Japan.

The brewery's Instagram post also notes that the festival has changed its system this year: visitors will move around the venue with a reusable cup issued at entry. Advance tickets are 800 yen, while same-day tickets are 1,000 yen; both include the reusable cup and one draft beer.

DD4D says it will bring its own beers to the booth, making this a notable appearance for an Ehime brewery at one of Gifu's biggest craft-beer events. For drinkers, it is another chance to see how a brewery known for wide-ranging collaborations fits into a large regional beer festival.
