KBL THE GARAGE Offers YYG Collaboration to Celebrate Kyoto Beer Lab's 8th Anniversary and Its Own 2nd Anniversary
KBL THE GARAGE in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, has announced a joint project commemorating Kyoto Beer Lab's 8th anniversary and the shop's own 2nd anniversary. In addition to two collaboration beers with Y.Y.G. Brewing, both venues will hold three days of anniversary celebrations.
Kyoto Beer Lab and KBL THE GARAGE are carrying out an anniversary project that aligns milestones for both shops. KBL THE GARAGE is a brewery and beer pub in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, and one of the hubs supporting Kyoto's craft beer scene. This time, to celebrate Kyoto Beer Lab's 8th anniversary and KBL THE GARAGE's 2nd anniversary, a collaboration with Y.Y.G. Brewing has come together.
The collaboration began when Casey, a brewer at Y.Y.G. Brewing, used to often visit KBL while living in Kyoto. Even after moving to Tokyo, the relationship continued, and the collaboration was realized in time for the anniversary. Brewing took place at YYG's main Yoyogi location, and the beers will first be offered at KBL THE GARAGE in extremely small, limited quantities.
Collaboration Beers
- Twistline: Hazy Sour IPA. ABV 6.5%, IBU 8. A brisk, easy-drinking beer accented with celery, with aromas of passion fruit, white grapes, lime, and grapefruit layered together.
- Dear AKABOSHI (C2604): Bohemian Pilsner. ABV 6.5%, IBU 28. Centered on the drinkability typical of a lager, this beer was designed with moderate bitterness and a finish that pairs well with meals.
The anniversary project runs for three days, from May 2 to 4. Kyoto Beer Lab will be open from 13:00 to 23:00, and KBL THE GARAGE from 13:00 to 21:00. This project, in which the connection between Kyoto and Yoyogi has been turned directly into beer, not only celebrates the stores' anniversaries but also highlights the relationship between the two breweries.
