Beer Cafe Gambrinus in Kokubunji has tapped Ushiku Brewery’s Juicy Parade today. The beer is listed as a juicy IPA, adding another hop-forward option to the pub’s 14-tap lineup.
The current board also includes Hino Brewing’s Wild Honey, Ise Kadoya’s Nekojima, Ushitora’s Bababa Weizen and Double Furin, Kakegawa Farm’s Narakoko Pale Ale, North Island’s Brown Ale, U.B.P Brewery’s Counter Attack!, Iwate Kura Beer’s Japanese Herb Ale Sansho, Yokohama Bay Brewing’s Bay Pilsner Hallertau Edition, Hop Dog’s Pineapple IPA, Shiokaze BrewLab’s Cokatsutsu, and Pilsner Urquell. It is a broad mix that covers hazy and juicy styles, wheat beer, ale, stout, and classic lager in one room.
Coming soon are Shonan Beer’s Schwarz, Nomcraft’s Triskelion, Repubrew’s Coastal Crush Hazy IPA, Shiga Kogen Beer’s Yuru Brew Spelt, and Fujizakura Heights Beer’s Diamond Side Beat. For drinkers following Japanese craft beer, the lineup makes Gambrinus a reliable stop.
The pub opened in December 2007 and is known for handmade food from a Japanese chef, along with mostly domestic craft beer. It is non-smoking, has no cover charge, and offers free Wi-Fi. Hours are 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on weekdays and 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Saturdays. The shop notes that it will be closed on Sunday, July 19, and open on Monday, July 20.
