A Tokushima-only sudachi lager enters full sales

KAMIKATZ Beer, the brewpub in Kamikatsu, Tokushima, has begun full sales of its regional release, YATTTOSA BEER. The beer first launched in April 2026, but demand quickly pushed it out of stock at many retailers. Full distribution began on July 7.

The beer is built on a light, crisp lager base made with rice, layered with the bright citrus aroma of sudachi peel, a fruit deeply tied to Tokushima's food culture. According to the official details, the recipe uses pilsner malt, Vienna malt, acid malt, and the hops Hallertauer Mittelfrueh, Motueka, and Riwaka. It clocks in at 5.0% ABV and 21 IBU, with a clean finish designed to pair naturally with meals.

Built for the table

The brewery describes the beer as a refreshing lager with a fresh citrus lift and a gentle bitterness. That profile makes it a strong match for fish dishes, fried foods such as karaage and tempura, and simply seasoned yakitori. It is the kind of beer that resets the palate without getting in the way of the next bite.

A beer that reflects Kamikatsu and Tokushima

KAMIKATZ Beer operates from Kamikatsu, a mountain town known for its zero-waste ethos and deep connection to local ingredients and community-driven brewing. YATTTOSA BEER is positioned as a beer for Tokushima's everyday moments, drawing its name from the local Awa Odori shout "Yattosa" and linking the product to the rhythm of the region.

Sales are limited to Tokushima Prefecture. The beer is available at RISE & WIN in Kamikatsu and at selected KAMIKATZ Beer retailers across the prefecture, with no online store availability. For beer drinkers interested in place-driven lagers, this is a clear example of local character translated directly into the glass.
