The Local Pub Takenoyu Bekkan Serves FLORA FERMENTATION Fresh Hop IPA
The Local Pub Takenoyu Bekkan, a beer pub in Sumida, Tokyo, highlighted a fresh hop IPA from FLORA FERMENTATION for its September 19, 2026 service. The pub will also host a biryani and island shochu event on September 20.
The Local Pub Takenoyu Bekkan in T立川, Sumida, Tokyo, announced service from 4:00 p.m. to midnight on September 19, 2026. Its featured recommendation was a fresh hop IPA from FLORA FERMENTATION.
The beer is FLORALIA IPA, a seasonal fresh hop IPA brewed with the brewery’s own fresh hops. It is described as having vivid, green and juicy hop aromas that reflect the character of freshly harvested hops. The beer is listed at 6.5% ABV and 37 IBU, using Cascade, Citra, FLORA fresh hop Cascade and other Cascade-derived hop products.
The pub occupies a former coin-laundry space attached to a public bathhouse. Its concept is rooted in the idea of a local gathering place where people can drop in, relax and exchange conversation, much like a neighborhood public bath. A U-shaped counter creates an intimate setting suited to solo drinking and an after-work beer. The venue is located a short walk from Kikukawa Station in a residential part of Sumida.
Food service is limited to light snacks and traditional Japanese sweets rather than full meals. Alongside beer, the pub offers wine and island shochu. On September 20 from 4:00 p.m., it is scheduled to host “SPICE UP SEPTEMBER,” featuring biryani, island shochu and other offerings. Biryani is planned to be served at approximately 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 p.m.
For those interested in fresh hop character and neighborhood pub culture, FLORALIA IPA offers a timely reason to visit. Guests should check the pub’s official Instagram for the latest opening information and availability.
