GROW BREW HOUSE Offers a Food-Heavy Menu Today, Serving Six House-Brewed Beers
In a post on April 27, GROW BREW HOUSE in Nishikawaguchi, Saitama, announced that today was a "food-heavy day." Along with a tap list of six house-brewed beers, it has prepared Cuban-sandwich-style food and grilled Caesar-salad-style food, and it also previewed public brewing and curry service during Golden Week.
Food-Heavy Service
The brewpub GROW BREW HOUSE in Nishikawaguchi, Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture announced in an April 27 post that today would be a "food-heavy day." This time, the star is the food, designed specifically to pair with beer. The lineup includes a Cuban-sandwich-style item with melt-in-your-mouth pork simmered with spices and cheese tucked into French bread, as well as a grilled Caesar-salad-style dish with savory notes and garlic cheese, all meant to fully satisfy drinkers' appetites.
The shop is, in every sense, a brewpub directly connected to the brewery. The close distance between maker and drinker makes it easy to check the pairing of beer character and food on the spot. Located within walking distance of Nishikawaguchi Station, it offers house-brewed craft beer in a relaxed, unpretentious way.
Today's Tap List
In that day's post, six house-brewed beers were announced.
- mix / Milk Shake IPA / 7%
- Amanatsu Wheat Lager / Fruits Wheat Lager / 4%
- Heiji / Hazy IPA / 6%
- Onaji Hanashi / Barley Wine / 9%
- Pottering / Saison / 6%
- BIG BRIDGE IPA / American IPA / 7%
Milk Shake IPA, a fruit-style wheat lager, Hazy IPA, Barley Wine, Saison, and American IPA make for a pretty broad range of flavors. The lineup should suit everyone from those who want to drink lightly to those who want a beer with a solid body.
Golden Week Includes Public Brewing
The post also announced the Golden Week schedule. On May 3, they will hold Texas BBQ out front, and from May 5 through 7 they will open at 12:00 and do a public craft-beer brew session. On brew days, viewing is free, and being able to look in on the brewing site while drinking beer is another distinctly GROW BREW HOUSE touch.
During the same period, curry will also be served, and at present the candidates are lamb curry and coconut chicken curry. An operation that brings beer, food, and brew-day viewing together captures the shop's character well. If you're heading out for a drink in Nishikawaguchi, this is a good choice for a day when you want to enjoy the meal as part of the experience.
