Ogoshi Beer Brewery to Hold Four Reservation-Only "Tank Opening Days" in May

Ogoshi Beer Brewery (Sakaide City, Kagawa Prefecture) announced that it will henceforth hold direct sales about once a month, and has limited May's direct-sale dates to May 9 and 10. On top of that, as a brewery-specific event, it will hold "Tank Opening Days" on four dates in May: May 16-17 and 22-23. Hours are 16:00-18:00 and 19:00-21:00, and the event will be reservation-only with limited capacity.

What stands out in this post is its emphasis on prioritizing "offering a better time" over increasing sales opportunities. Ogoshi Beer is a craft brewery based at its own facility in Ogoshi Town, Sakaide City, where it makes beer using lemons and barley from the town. The brand emerged from a town-building effort centered on agriculture, and it has woven local ingredients and the atmosphere of the land into its beer.

Its signature labels include "Lemonsoon," made with Ogoshi-grown lemons, "Byakuchumu," and "Ananas no Yuuwaku." Because it has valued places where makers and drinkers can interact directly through event appearances and direct sales, a small-scale event like this is a strong expression of Ogoshi Beer Brewery's philosophy. The aroma and temperature the moment a tank is opened, and the character of a beer poured fresh, are pleasures unique to a brewery and hard to get from bottles or cans.

Ogoshi Beer began brewing in spring 2024, making it a relatively new brewery, but its commitment to using local resources and its messaging that layers on-site experiences has remained consistent. The May "Tank Opening Days" look set to clearly show that direction.
