Marika Brewing Announces Its Annual Spring “Unofficial” Collaboration Beer
At 2:44 p.m. on March 11, Nagano-based Marika Brewing (毬花麦酒) unveiled its annual spring project, the “Unofficial Collaboration Beer with Tokyu Department Store Nagano” on Instagram. It is being presented as a spicy saison made with apple juice and six botanicals.
Marika Brewing, a craft beer hub in Nagano City, has shared news of a new release suited to the spring season. According to the post, this beer is named the “Unofficial Collaboration Beer with Tokyu Department Store Nagano.” It has been positioned as an annual recurring project, and its playful naming and carefully designed ingredients stand out.
The main ingredients listed in this recipe are apple juice, bergamot, juniper berries, hibiscus, cardamom, and elderflower. The style is described as a “spicy saison,” suggesting a direction that layers the gentle sweet-tartness of fruit with citrus, floral, and spice-driven complexity. Detailed specs such as ABV and IBU were not included in the current post.
The same post also announced event plans spanning March through April. The lineup includes March 14 related events for the Nagano Parceiro match, a Spring Equinox Latin Party on March 20 (at Marika Brewing), events in Joetsu City on April 11-12, and an in-store event on April 17, creating a spring program that expands both outside and inside the shop. For event appearance dates, the brewery noted that the store will remain open as usual.
Marika Brewing is based near Zenkoji Omotesando in Nagano and, in addition to tap service, also sells kegs and bottles for commercial use and operates online sales. While rooted in the local community, it continues to roll out projects that capture the feel of the seasons and the atmosphere of the place, making it a brewery worth watching as a local voice.
