Three Guest Beers from NEKOBEER and Totopia Tapped at BEERKICHI in Fukuoka
BEERKICHI, in Watanabe-dori, Fukuoka, will open at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23. An Instagram post announced three beers - a Hazy IPA and an Imperial Stout from NEKOBEER, and a DDH Hazy IPA from Totopia - all available to enjoy until midnight.
The beer pub BEERKICHI (Beerkichi) in Watanabe-dori, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, will open at 1:00 p.m. and close at midnight on Saturday, May 23. Located in an easy-to-stop-by spot from the Tenjin-minami area, it is known as a place where you can casually focus on beer without any pretense.
An Instagram post introduced the three kegs lined up as the day's `New on Tap`. From Fukuoka's NEKOBEER came `CLEARNEKOLIQUIDはいぱー` (TDH Hazy IPA, ABV 7.5%) and `パティスリーにゃんころ〜ストロベリーガナッシュケーキスタウト〜` (Imperial Stout, ABV 10.0%). In addition, Totopia from Aichi tapped `Diffusio philia` (DDH Hazy IPA, ABV 8.5%).
The two NEKOBEER beers form a contrasting pair: a Hazy IPA with a strong hop presence and an Imperial Stout with dessert-like character. Because the drinking profiles differ so clearly, there is enjoyment in following them from the first glass onward. Totopia's DDH Hazy IPA should offer a vivid aroma and a full-bodied mouthfeel, and comparing the three makes it easy to get a sense of the character of the day's taps.
The post also included information on "Kiriwo no Umauma Ramen," and being able to move back and forth between beer and food is very much what BEERKICHI is about. Whether you want to enjoy the night standing and moving through the lineup at a good pace, or settle on your favorite beer and take your time with it, this is a day worth checking if you're looking for guest beers in Fukuoka.
