Tamba Sasayama Zigzag Brewery held its “Jinja de Beer Garden” on September 22 at Sumiyoshi Shrine in Fuk住, Tamba-Sasayama, Hyogo. The event ran from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In an Instagram post published the following day, the brewery expressed its appreciation to all visitors.
According to the brewery’s event information, attendees who completed a short advance questionnaire received a welcome drink: either the new Organic Rice Kölsch or a soft drink. The event offered an opportunity to enjoy craft beer in a shrine setting closely connected to the local community.
Based in Fuk住, Tamba-Sasayama, Tamba Sasayama Zigzag Brewery is a small microbrewery surrounded by mountains and rivers. It uses more than 10 yeast strains and produces a diverse range of beers in small batches. Its lineup includes Kölsch, Belgian Blonde, Weizen, Pale Ale, Black Bean Imperial IPA and other styles.
The brewery places particular emphasis on temperature control and monitoring fermentation, exploring the range of flavors created by combinations of malt, hops and yeast. It also brings its beer to events with its mobile beer truck, “Shiawase no Ippai-go,” or “A Happy Pint.”
