Seasonal Limited-Edition "Dortmunder" Released at Hamamatsu's Mainschloss Starting March 27
Hamamatsu brewery-restaurant Mainschloss will begin selling its new seasonal beer, "Dortmunder," on March 27. It is a brew characterized by the richness and umami of malt and a clean finish from filtration, made with sausages and Schweinshaxe in mind.
A new seasonal beer, "Dortmunder," is being added to Mainschloss's lineup. Sales begin Friday, March 27. It is a lager that brings the richness and umami of malt to the fore while finishing clean thanks to filtration, and its golden color is also striking.
The shop is a Hamamatsu brewery set inside a building inspired by an old German castle, serving freshly brewed local beer from the brewing facility inside the restaurant. Its regular lineup consists of four styles: Weizen, Alt, Schwarz, and Helles, plus one seasonal beer. This Dortmunder is introduced as a special beer brewed toward Mainschloss's 29th anniversary.
Restaurant prices are 530 yen for 300 ml and 870 yen for 500 ml. Bottled beer is 627 yen for 330 ml, and it is also recommended for the cherry blossom viewing season. As suggested pairings, meat dishes such as sausages and Schweinshaxe are featured, making it easy to enjoy beer and food together, which is part of this restaurant's appeal. Because customers can see the storage tanks from their seats, another attraction is being able to enjoy a glass while feeling the presence of the beer being brewed.
