Golden Garden, a beer pub in Hiroshima’s Naka Ward, has announced a new tap: HAZY BOOM from Kamado Brewery in Gifu Prefecture. The beer is part of the brewery’s Kadokawa Fragrance Research Institute series and is described as tropical, with a soft sweetness. Its aromatic, hazy character should appeal to drinkers looking for a juicy and expressive craft beer.
The pub serves a rotating selection of craft beers alongside food. The day’s featured snack platter included chicken wings with daikon, Chinese-style saliva chicken, mapo eggplant, smoked macaroni salad, fried cartilage, Japanese-style sauerkraut, and braised pork in a lu rou-style preparation. A smaller three-item platter was also available for solo drinkers.
Golden Garden also highlighted North Island Beer’s appearance at a Hokkaido products fair at Hiroshima Sogo. Bottles and cans are expected to sell out quickly, according to the post, and the brewery’s Hiroshima-born president, Sakaguchi, as well as its well-known sales representative Tanaka, will be present at the venue.
At Golden Garden, happy hour runs daily until 7 p.m., with draft beers from the pub’s own HIROSHIMA NEIGHBORLY BREWING available at special prices. The pub’s stated hours are 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., making it a convenient stop for a fresh hazy beer, food, and conversation in central Hiroshima.
