The beer pub MOONRISE KINGDOM in Nishi-Shinjuku updated its tap list for its weekend service on May 23 and 24. In addition to three kegs from Nara brewing, Tokyo ALEWORKS × Vallejo brew, and BREW CLASSIC, it is also offering two bottled beers from Himitsu Beer.
Weekend Tap List Updated
The beer pub "MOONRISE KINGDOM," on the first floor of Tenku MURA in Nishi-Shinjuku, introduced its weekend recommendations in time for lunch and dinner service on May 23 and 24. The shop is a small place centered on craft beer, burritos, and fresh pasta, and its hallmark is a style of cooking built around fresh ingredients. It is set up so guests can relax with a drink alongside their meal.
The food focus for the day is the "Special Fish Tacos," featuring roasted Hokkaido cod paired with a house-made Mediterranean-style sauce. The shop recommends pairing the bright, refreshing flavors of early summer with IPA or lager. Other food-forward options on the menu include "Shirasu and Early-Summer Vegetable Aglio e Olio," "BBQ Steak Burrito," "Carnitas Tacos," "Chicken Quesadilla," "Mascarpone with Kumamoto Melon," and "Squid Ink Pasta."
There are three draft beers on tap.
- Nara brewing / KIP - Hoppy Pilsner
- Tokyo ALEWORKS × Vallejo brew / BY THE BAY - WC IPA
- BREW CLASSIC / Heartful Tiger - Juicy IPA
The lineup spans everything from pilsner to West Coast IPA and juicy IPA, making it easy to choose based on the balance between light drinkability and hop character. KIP looks like the best match for seafood tacos, while BY THE BAY and Heartful Tiger should pair well with burritos topped with bold sauces or strongly aromatic dishes.
Two bottled beers from Himitsu Beer are also newly available.
- ORCA / Natsumikan Pale Ale - ABV 5%
- Chin Anago Gold / GOLDEN ALE - ABV 5%
ORCA is a pale ale made with homegrown summer mandarins, bringing a light citrus note to the glass. Chin Anago Gold is presented as a well-balanced golden ale that is easy to drink on hot days, with floral aromas and grassy hops as its defining features. The shop also stocks 30 kinds of domestic and imported craft beer bottles, offering a wide range of choices to pair with a weekend meal.
It is an easy stop in Nishi-Shinjuku when you want to enjoy both food and beer at the same time.
