Tap update for Friday, May 29
The beer pub BEERKICHI in Watanabe-dori, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, opened at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29 and will remain open until midnight. In an Instagram post, the bar announced these two new NEKOBEER beers as "New on tap" starting that day.
The two beers are both from Fukuoka's NEKOBEER.
- NEKOBEER / Kin no Neko! Kogō! Kogō! Goggo! Golden Ale
Golden Ale / ABV 5.0% / Fukuoka
- NEKOBEER / Single Nekosan's Single-Hop Pale Ale ~NZ variety! Rakau de Kaukau Tsumitate Hop ver~
Pale Ale / ABV 5.5% / Fukuoka
The first is a Golden Ale, and the second is a single-hop Pale Ale made with the NZ variety Rakau. Both sit in the easy-drinking 5% range, and as befits a beer pub, they are set up so you can take your time and compare the flavor differences starting with the first glass. As the names suggest, there is a playful cat motif up front, but the styles themselves lean classic, so you can also enjoy the gap between the label and the actual drinking experience.
BEERKICHI is a convenient stop for anyone looking for craft beer in the Tenjin-minami area. On weekdays it opens at 3:00 p.m. and closes late at midnight, so it's well suited for dropping by early and keeping up with tap changes. In this post, the bar also announced 5/31 (Sun) Ebi Fry 1000-Strike Challenge, 6/7 (Sun) Marugoto Marumaru Festival, 6/8 (Mon) Kansuke x Beef Tongue Eat Night, and 6/14 (Sun) Middle-aged Festival, so it's worth keeping an eye on what's coming next as well.
