Orang Craft Brewery opened in Saiki in 2024. Brewer Kono Shunsuke has been working to make craft beer more approachable for local drinkers, saying he has continued to refine the recipes so that even people who do not usually like beer can enjoy them. The brewery typically offers several beers at a time, including limited releases that make use of seasonal and regional ingredients.
The featured oysters come from Yakatajima in Kamae, Saiki City, where the sea has supported oyster farming for years. The roots of the rock-oyster cultivation there go back to a trial effort started about 15 years ago by Goto Eisuke. The event brings together a brewery rooted in Saiki and a local oyster producer, creating a pairing that reflects the area’s food culture and geography.
