Orang Craft Brewery in Saiki, Oita, is preparing its seasonal beer PIRATES with marine lemons harvested in the Tsurumi area of Saiki City. The brewery says the beer, made with the local citrus, is popular every year and tends to sell out quickly.
Regular customers joined the brewery for the harvest and processing work. With extra hands needed, the brewery invited its regulars to help, serving beer as they worked from morning into the evening. The scene reflects the close relationship between the brewery, its customers, and the local community.
According to the brewery’s post, PIRATES will be ready soon. If preparations are completed in time, the beer is planned to appear at the 5th Oita Craft Beer Garden, scheduled for October 10–12 at Shukusai no Hiroba. The final availability and quantity have not yet been announced.
Orang Craft Brewery is also scheduled to participate in SENDO MACHI TACOS in Sendo-machi on October 3 and the Tsuruoka Commercial Festival at Tsuruoka Elementary School on October 10–11. These local events may offer beer fans an opportunity to encounter the new release alongside other beers from the Saiki brewery.
PIRATES brings together seasonal citrus, a local harvest, and the brewery’s community-oriented approach. For beer drinkers interested in regional ingredients, the upcoming release will be one to watch this autumn.
