Octone Brewing, based in Minakami, Gunma, will participate in Mogura Beer Camp 2026 on Saturday, October 3.

The event will take place at DOAIVILLAGE beside JR Doai Station on the Joetsu Line. Doai Station is known as Japan’s “mole station” because its lower platform lies underground, reached by descending 486 steps from the station building. The event will feature “Mogura Aged Beer,” beer matured in that underground environment.

According to Octone Brewing’s announcement, the beer casks will be brought up from the underground platform on the morning of the event. The 486-step journey to the surface is part of the story: visitors will be able to taste beer that has spent time in a distinctive, relatively stable underground setting.

Mogura Beer Camp is scheduled to run from noon to 6 p.m. Alongside craft beer and food, the program is expected to include live music and beer-related activities. Advance tickets are available with either an original event glass or a sticker, and same-day tickets are also planned.

Octone Brewing makes beer using the water and natural resources of the Okutone area. Its brewing project began in 2018 and has since expanded into local agriculture, including hops and apples, as well as hard cider production. After expanding and relocating its brewing facilities in spring 2025, the brewery has continued producing both craft beer and hard cider.

At Mogura Beer Camp, the underground setting, Minakami’s natural landscape, and the character of a slowly matured beer come together in one experience. For beer lovers, it is an opportunity to taste not only a limited beer but also the place and story behind it.
