ENJOY Coffee&Beer, a beer pub in Komae, Tokyo, has released a fifth-anniversary beer made with Himitsu Beer. This is the fourth collaboration between the two, and this year’s release revisits a hop-forward extra hoppy ale, now fermented with Himitsu Beer’s house yeast.

The beer is called Sametare. At 4.5% ABV, the post describes a soft stone-fruit aroma, grassy hop notes, and a firm bitterness. It is also meant to evolve as it warms, so the changing top notes should be part of the experience.

ENJOY Coffee&Beer is a neighborhood spot built around coffee and craft beer, and that balance shows here as well: an approachable pub setting with a beer that clearly leans into detail. For drinkers who like hop character and a bit of bitterness, this anniversary pour looks like a natural fit.
