Kuniumi Brewery releases a collaboration beer with Doga Sauna in Taga, Shiga
Kuniumi Brewery in Taga, Shiga has launched a collaboration beer with the popular local sauna Doga Sauna. The beer uses rice and herbs from Fujise in Taga Town, and the brewery says the brewer’s long experience with herbs helped shape the recipe and label design.
Kuniumi Brewery, based in Taga, Inukami District, Shiga, announced the new release on Instagram with the message that sales had started the same day. The beer was created in collaboration with Doga Sauna, a popular sauna in Taga, and is being presented as a product that connects local ingredients with sauna culture.
According to the post, the beer is brewed with rice and herbs from Fujise, Taga Town, where Doga Sauna is located. The brewery also says its long experience of using herbs as a bartender was put to work in the recipe. The label design is part of the concept as well, making this more than a simple limited release.
Sales are available at Tago Brewpub Sisle in Taga and at Sazanami Sake Shop in Hikone. By setting up local retail channels, the collaboration is not limited to a single venue and can reach drinkers across the area. In the craft beer market, where limited releases are common, that distribution design is often part of the appeal.
For a brewery rooted in Taga, working with nearby businesses and local ingredients is a natural way to express character. This release brings together sauna culture, rice, and herbs in one beer, offering a clear example of how a regional story can be translated into flavor.
