Spicy Brothers, a brewery located in Matsuyama, Murakami, Niigata, will host “Hagure Kodo,” a solo taiko performance by Kenta Nakagome, a performer with the renowned taiko ensemble Kodo. The event is scheduled for October 10, 2026, with performances at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Kodo is a taiko performance group based on Sado Island that has appeared on stages around the world. For this performance, the venue will not be a large concert hall or a purpose-built stage, but the Spicy Brothers brewery itself. The intimate setting is designed to let audiences experience not only the powerful sound of the taiko, but also the performer’s physical expression and breathing up close.

The event offers a distinctive pairing of local craft beer and traditional Japanese performing arts. Guests will be able to enjoy a beer from the brewery while taking in Nakagome’s dynamic solo performance, creating an evening rooted in Murakami’s local culture and brewing scene.

Small children will receive complimentary snacks. In case of rain, the performance will move indoors at the brewery. Parking is limited, so organizers ask visitors to use public transportation or other nearby parking facilities and refrain from parking on surrounding streets.

The venue is located at 486-7 Matsuyama, Murakami, Niigata. Presented by Kodo and Spicy Brothers, the event will offer a rare opportunity to experience world-class taiko in an intimate brewery setting.
