North Island Beer to Release Limited Beer 'Home Bound' on May 22
North Island Beer will release its limited beer 'Home Bound' on May 22. It is an American Pale Ale with ABV 5.5% and IBU 35, using Cascade and Chinook. In addition to keg and bottle shipments, online orders for the general public will also begin that day.
Hokkaido's Ebetsu-based North Island Beer will release its limited beer 'Home Bound' on May 22. With a brewing history that began in 2003 after training in Canada, the brewery now operates its Ebetsu plant and offers limited and seasonal beers alongside its five regular brands, making this a classic American pale ale in line with its character.
Features of Home Bound
'Home Bound' is an American Pale Ale with ABV 5.5% and IBU 35. Using Cascade and Chinook hops, it is designed to deliver citrus notes reminiscent of orange and grapefruit, firm bitterness, and a gentle malt backbone. It is introduced as a beer that avoids chasing flashiness and instead emphasizes easy drinkability that fits into everyday life.
North Island Beer has long kept the concept of brewing "what we ourselves want to drink," and has continued making free-spirited, diverse beers. It has also produced Weizen using wheat from Ebetsu and limited beers using Hokkaido-grown hops, with local ingredients forming a key part of its appeal. This 'Home Bound' release can be seen as another limited offering in that same vein.
Sales begin with keg products for the commercial market shipping from May 22, and bottle products shipping the same day as well. For general consumers, orders will be accepted on the official online store from 10:00 a.m. on May 22, with shipments starting sequentially on May 23. On May 23, direct sales and sales by measure are also planned at the Ebetsu brewery, offering a chance to get the freshly made limited beer.
