In an Instagram post on April 19, MATSURI BREWING announced that it had brought in two VERTERE beers. Based in Urayasu, Chiba, MATSURI BREWING is a brewery that promotes the idea of "creating special occasions through mikoshi and beer making." Drawing on the festival culture of the old Edogawa area, it offers beers designed to balance drinkability and character.
The Two Beers Introduced This Time
- Persica
Peach Gose / 6.0% ABV. A peach gose made with white peach juice, cinnamon, and vanilla, with a higher proportion of salt than usual to create a fuller body. On the aroma side, subtle toasty pie and biscuit notes are said to bring out the peach flavor.
- Lupulus
American Pale Ale / 5.5% ABV. A beer created in collaboration with the U.S. hop supplier BarthHaas, featuring citrus, passion fruit, and a subtle resinous character. The recipe appears to be designed to strike a balance between juiciness and easy drinkability.
MATSURI BREWING's taproom is well known as a neighborhood brewery near Urayasu Station. Introductions like this of beers from other breweries are also worth noting as part of a move to broaden the selection available at the taproom alongside the regular lineup and house-brewed beers. Because the lineup changes with the season and with purchasing conditions, information like this is something beer fans won't want to miss.
