The beer pub Taru Taru in Kawaramachi, Takamatsu, is introducing CRACK, a collaboration beer from OHLOY Brewing. The beer was created for BRIDGE SHIP HOUSE’s exhibition CRACK, with the project emerging through a connection with CENTER.

The beer is a berry-based sour ale. According to the post, it uses blueberries and blackberries, with acidity kept in a balance that is neither too sharp nor too round. The brewer also aimed for a clear color while layering in earthy, shadow-like nuances, giving the beer more depth than a simple fruit beer.

Taru Taru is the kind of beer pub where this sort of guest-featured release makes sense: a place for following craft beer in Takamatsu’s Kawaramachi area. CRACK is presented as a beer that reflects the exhibition’s world while still staying approachable in the glass. It was also framed as something to enjoy on rainy days, which fits the beer’s berry-led acidity well.

Another version will also be sold at CENTER, with locations in Tokyo and Kagawa. For beer drinkers, the appeal here is clear: a collaboration that connects art, a specific brewery, and a style built around berries and restrained sourness.
