Highlights from the Taps on Wednesday, March 18

The lineup CRAFT BEER BASE leaf released for the day consists of 10 original taps plus 5 guest taps. With everything from saison, blonde, pale ale, hazy IPA, wit, English IPA, and herb-driven saison to lambic, it is a strong lineup that lets you cover a broad spectrum of flavors at one spot.

Among the originals, the tap list includes the venue’s namesake leaf : Saison with sage & Lemongrass, the fragrant LAVENDER & CHAMOMILE, and hop-forward beers like MIX JUICY 012 and Hop Scheme057 Nectaron, making it easy to compare differences in aroma design. There is also a beer such as Ikeda Mikan Wit that lets you enjoy citrus nuances, so it is a day with plenty of options for pairing with food.

The guest taps are Taiyo no Lager (Miyazaki Hideji Beer), Indie IPA (CRAFTROCK), Tropical Terps (Belching Beaver), Ozu Persimmon Hazy IPA (Garyu Brewing), and Ashanti (Brasserie Cantillon). The range runs from a classic pilsner to a distinctive lambic, and can be arranged to suit a drinker’s preferences and mood.

The shop is on the 2nd floor of the North Building at Grand Green Osaka, near Osaka Station. In this open, airy new area, it is an easy stop for anything from a post-work drink to a more leisurely tasting session. The post also mentions a sweets-linked project, so there is growing interest in what comes next, not only for beer on its own but also from a pairing perspective.
