Sakaduki Brewing Sets June 17 Tapping for 'Secret Base', a Yomogi Saison Returning After Nine Years
Sakaduki Brewing in Tokyo's Adachi Ward shared its June 14 tap lineup and announced that 'Secret Base' will be tapped on June 17. The beer returns after nine years, and the brewery plans a food pairing built around familiar Japanese ingredients.
Sakaduki Brewing in Tokyo's Adachi Ward posted its weekend beer lineup alongside the next release schedule. For Sunday, June 14, the tap list spans 17 beers, including 'shy girl' (Bohemian pilsner), 'Bye Bye OVATIFOLIA' (agave American pale ale), 'Hatsu-kaze' (sake-yeast beer), 'Kuro Ageha' (German schwarz), 'KISS ME' (peanut-chocolate milk stout), and 'Deep Night Black' (imperial stout), with fruit beers and sour styles also in the mix. The brewery also said 'Night Forest' is down to very limited servings and 'Flowers in the Wind' has entered its final-countdown phase.
The main new release is 'Secret Base', which will be tapped on Wednesday, June 17. It returns for the first time in nine years as a refreshing saison made with yomogi, or Japanese mugwort. According to the brewery, the herb came from a farm linked to a wagashi maker in Matsue, Shimane, with more than 150 years of history. The beer is designed to balance yomogi's green, deep aroma with the fruity esters, spice, and dry finish typical of saison.
A food pairing menu using familiar Japanese ingredients is also planned for the same day. Sakaduki's approach continues to emphasize beer and food together, not just the beer itself, making the release a good fit for drinkers who enjoy pairing-driven taproom visits.
