Kobe's Nada Ward-based Brasserie A Root, operating out of Suido-suji, is preparing for its first booth at a full-scale beer festival. In an Instagram post, the brewery announced its participation in "Bakuen" as its first challenge of this kind. For the brewery, which began brewing in May last year, this will be a milestone occasion.

According to the post, it plans to bring a total of seven beers, including new releases. The main highlight is a collaboration beer made with Daiginjo sake lees from Izumi Sake Brewery. It is said to have turned out "really well," and a same-day release at the venue is planned. It is the kind of beer that makes you want to check at the beer fest how the aroma and richness derived from sake lees were brought into the brew.

Brasserie A Root is a brewery located in Kobe's Nada, a district known for sake, and it also feels especially well suited to the local food and fermentation culture. This time, the brewery is highlighting not just its beer lineup but also its collaboration with a sake brewery. As craft beer and sake each bring their own fermentation character together, the tasting comparisons at the venue should become even more interesting.

The post also notes that the Suido-suji shop will be temporarily closed. Those heading to the event should make sure to separately confirm the venue pours and the status of the shop's operations. Attention is now on what kind of beer Brasserie A Root will use to make its presence felt at its first major festival appearance.
