YUDANAKA BREWERY COMPLEX U, a day-trip complex in Yamanouchi, Nagano, has announced a new summer-limited release: Tropical Kinmon Rice Lager.

The facility sits in the hot-spring area of Yudanaka and combines drinking, dining, relaxation, shopping, and sightseeing in one place. From that setting comes a new entry in its seasonal “Tropical” series, following the well-received Tropical Hoppy Lager from the past two summers.

This beer is a limited-brew West Coast Pilsner made with the rare sake rice Kinmon Nishiki. According to the brewery’s post, it is built around a bright hop aroma, refreshing bitterness, a light lager-like drinkability, and a dry, crisp finish. The beer is described as having a natural haze, with tropical aromatics and a clean, satisfying impression.

Specs are straightforward: 5.0% ABV and 330 ml. It is served in the restaurant as a medium size for 790 yen or large size for 980 yen tax included, while bottles are sold for 680 yen tax included in limited quantities. The beer should be kept refrigerated, and the best-before window is six months from bottling. It is also available through the online store “U-NAGANO SIGNATURE,” making it an easy seasonal pick whether you drink it on site or take it home.
