AFTER SCHOOL BREWERY in Ikejiri-Ohashi Adds Extra Golden Week Hours in May
AFTER SCHOOL BREWERY in Ikejiri-Ohashi, Setagaya, has published its tenant operating schedule for May. During Golden Week, neighboring tenants will also add extra hours, making it an easier month to enjoy craft beer across the former school building complex.
May Operating Schedule
According to the announcement from HOME/WORK VILLAGE, AFTER SCHOOL BREWERY will operate in May as well, from 13:00-22:00 on weekdays, 11:00-22:00 on Saturdays and holidays, and 11:00-21:00 on Sundays. Located on the first floor of the facility repurposed from the former Ikejiri Junior High School, the shop's charm is that you can not only drink beer but also easily wander through the restaurants and shops in the same school building.
Drinking and Comparing in a Former School Building
The shop is a brewery and taproom that promotes "adult after-school activities," with an interior that makes use of the former staff room site. In a previous report, 10 of the 12 taps were beer and 2 were barrel-aged wine, and the beer flight offered tastings of three varieties. The opening lineup included "After-School Riot Saison" with Riot Beer, "470 Tack&Tack" from Brewstars Yacht Club, the hazy IPA "Tnnity Grow" with Hazy Labo, "Kyodo Ale" from Goto Brewing, and "Sansho Yuzu Ale" from Brewstars Yacht Club.
May-Friendly Ways to Drink
The taproom also supports growler and canned fill-ups by weight, so you can take the beer back to the schoolyard or a nearby park. With snacks like mixed nuts and nachos, plus foods such as shirasu pizza and garlic sausage pizza, it feels right to start with a light pale ale, move on to a hop-forward hazy IPA for the second drink, and finish with a glass accented by sansho pepper or herbs. It's a place where you can savor the atmosphere of a former school building along with the local character typical of a Setagaya brewery.
