Enjoying Seven Draft Beers in Kanda

Bar Malt Road in Kanda Tamachi, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, has published its tap list along with notice that it opens at 5 p.m. today as well. The shop is a beer pub with a calm atmosphere that evokes a pub in the English countryside. Its counter is designed for relaxed drinking, and its focus on beer and whiskey is very much in keeping with the place.

What stands out in this latest post are the two new taps. "Sibeeria Bohemian Helles," from Sibeeria Brewery in Prague, Czech Republic, is a Helles brewed with Czech Saaz hops. Its defining traits are bready grain notes and a crisp, clean finish. The other new beer is "Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA" from Firestone Walker Brewing Company in California, U.S. It can be enjoyed as a classic West Coast IPA, with citrus aromas reminiscent of grapefruit and pineapple.

Other draft beers on offer include the house ale "Kanda Ale 2026," the British "Fuller's London Pride," the Belgian "Saison Dupont," and from Japan, "Keika Brewing KEIKA" and "Hideji Beer Kuri Kuro." With a broad range of styles, from a light lager to malty ales, aromatic IPAs, and dark beers, the lineup makes it easy to choose according to your mood.

The food menu features homemade quiche Lorraine, Angus beef tendon stewed in beer, and eggplant and bacon tomato pizza, making pairings with beer easy to imagine. It is a place worth keeping in mind for a day when you want to take your time and enjoy draft beer in Kanda.
